    Worcester Bosch Boiler Warranty

Let’s be honest, no one wants to have to replace their boiler because we all know that purchasing a new boiler and getting it installed costs quite a lot of money. Your boiler will need upgrading at some point though, whether it be to improve your home’s efficiency or because your existing model dies suddenly. When the time comes to buy a new boiler for your home, it’s important to choose a replacement that comes with a good warranty that protects you from unexpected repair bills.

When you purchase a boiler from Worcester Bosch, you’ll get a 2 or 5-year warranty as standard to give you added peace of mind. But what does that warranty cover? And how do you even register your guarantee? In our handy guide, we explain everything you need to know about a Worcester Bosch boiler warranty.

What Does a Worcester Bosch Boiler Warranty Cover?

As stated on the manufacturer’s website, a Worcester Bosch warranty covers the boiler against material or manufacturing faults for the duration of the guarantee period. The terms and conditions also say that during the guarantee period, any product or component which is proved to be faulty or defective in manufacture will be repaired or replaced free of material and labour charges, providing that Worcester Bosch has authorised or carried out the repair or replacement. If you live on a permanently moored house boat and have a Worcester Bosch boiler installed, it will be covered for parts only.

What are the Terms and Conditions of a Worcester Bosch Boiler Warranty?

Like with all boiler warranties, when you register a Worcester Bosch guarantee, you are agreeing to certain terms and conditions so you must study the terms carefully. Some of the terms are as you would expect, such as the warranty period will vary depending on the boiler type and the accreditation of your installers. Another fairly obvious one is that the boiler must be installed and commissioned in accordance with the installation instructions.

You can find all of the terms and conditions on the Worcester Bosch website, but here are some the most important ones to keep in mind:

    • The boiler must be purchased and installed in either the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
    • The boiler must only be used in a domestic or light commercial environment.
    • The boiler must not be moved once installed unless authorised by Worcester Bosch.
    • The boiler must be serviced annually to keep the warranty valid.
    • The warranty will not be extended if the boiler or a part is repaired or replaced.

How Do You Register Your Worcester Bosch Boiler Warranty?

It should be down to your installer to register your Worcester Bosch boiler guarantee. You can do it yourself via the Worcester Bosch website, provided you do so within 30 days of installation. But if you register your boiler online yourself, you will only receive the standard guarantee and won’t be offered the option to extend.

How Long Does a Worcester Bosch Warranty Last?

That depends on the type of boiler you choose. All Worcester Bosch gas boilers come with a 5-year warranty as standard, subject to the terms and conditions. If you opt for an oil-fired boiler, you’ll only receive a 2-year warranty. If fitted by a Worcester Bosch accredited installer, gas boilers should come with a 7-year warranty and oil boilers are backed by a 5-year warranty.

You may be able to extend the guarantee by up to 8 years (for oil boilers) or 10 years (for gas boilers) if your boiler is installed by a Worcester Bosch accredited installer and the boiler is fitted with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar filter system, so it’s worth looking into this if you would prefer extra protection.

    Important Things to Remember

The purpose of any boiler warranty is to give you peace of mind that the manufacturer has confidence in the quality of the product that you have purchased. A warranty also protects you for a specific period against the costs of parts and labour or parts only should anything go wrong, which is why a Worcester Bosch warranty is well-worth having. You do, however, need to be careful that you don’t void the warranty by not maintaining your boiler. All Worcester Bosch boilers must be serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer every 12 months within the warranty period. Unfortunately, many people forget about getting an annual service and their claims are denied as a result, so you must remember to service your boiler each year in accordance with the warranty terms.
