You can also choose from a wide range of other intelligent controls to improve both comfort and economy.

Greenstar CDi Compact Combi Technology and Main Advantages

Designed to provide high levels of operating efficiency, the Greenstar CDi Compact Combi features a ‘keep hot’ facility to ensure hot water is always instantly available. It has an ECO mode as well, which can override the ‘keep hot’ function when hot water is not required to ensure the appliance uses less gas.

The Greenstar CDi Compact Combi range includes three output sizes with different maximum hot water flow rates, which are as follows:

    • Greenstar 28CDi Compact Combi – 11.4 litres per minute
    • Greenstar 32CDi Compact Combi – 13.1 litres per minute
    • Greenstar 36CDi Compact Combi – 14.7 litres per minute

This boiler is easy to operate and adjust thanks to simple controls, and it has a clear temperature display which shows you the current operational status and gives the engineer direct access to commissioning and diagnostics data. Plus, installation is straightforward with a little help from a wall-mounting jig.

If you decide to install the boiler in your loft or garage, you never need to worry about frost damage because the unit includes frost protection. There is also a low energy modulating pump to reduce noise and electrical usage.

Is the Greenstar CDi Compact Combi the Right Boiler Type and Size for Your Home?

Let’s start with the 28CDi Compact Combi. With a 28kW output, this model is ideal for apartments and small houses with up to 8 radiators and 1 bathroom. Then there’s the 32CDi with a 32kW output, which is best suited to a medium-sized home with around 12 radiators, 1 bathroom and 1 ensuite. Lastly, we have the 36CDi which packs more of a punch and is a great choice for large homes with multiple family bathrooms.

As we always say, this information is just a rough guide, and you should ask a Gas Safe engineer to assess your heating and hot water usage habits before purchasing a Greenstar CDi Compact Combi. Otherwise, you could end up with a boiler that does not satisfy the needs of your household.

Our Honest Opinion of the Worcester Bosch Greenstar CDi Compact Combi

Boasting the smallest dimensions of all the Worcester Bosch boilers, the Greenstar CDi Compact Combi can be installed pretty much wherever you wish, which is great news if your home has limited space. Not forgetting the fact that this appliance can run all by itself without any cylinders or tanks.

The boiler can run using natural gas or LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and significantly reduce the cost of your energy bills because this model works hard in order not to waste energy. Take the special ECO mode for example. It overrides the ‘keep hot’ facility to ensure the boiler uses energy only when hot water is required – which we think is quite impressive.

If green credentials are particularly important to you (and so they should be), you can even improve efficiency and save even more money with this boiler by purchasing some additional intelligent Worcester Bosch controls and programmers.

Despite being such a small boiler, the Greenstar CDi Compact Combi provides exceptional levels of performance and efficiency so it’s hard to say anything negative about this one. We also really like the fact that all of the components are 100% recyclable.
