Potterton’s Assure Combi is a compact condensing wall mounted boiler that is available in 25kW and 30kW outputs.
It weighs 29kg and measures 700mm (H) x 290mm (W) x 345mm (W), making it a lightweight model that can be installed discreetly in a small cupboard. By being a combination boiler, this appliance helps to save space in your home because it doesn’t require a hot water cylinder or cold water tank. The smaller of the two units has a maximum flow rate of 10.2, and the larger offers 12.5 litres per minute.
Specifically designed to excel in small and medium-sized properties, the Potterton Assure Combi comes with a standard 2-year warranty and typically costs between £834 and £942.
The Potterton Assure Combi is an extremely energy efficient A-rated boiler with an official efficiency rating of 93%. It’s also an intelligent fully modulating model that always uses the right amount of fuel to meet your set central heating temperatures to ensure you save money on your heating bills. Furthermore, the boiler is recommended by the Energy Saving Trust.
With front access components, this model by Potterton is not only designed to make installation quick and easy but also maintenance, servicing and repairs. It comes with a central flue for ease of siting, along with flueing options of up to 20 metres to allow you flexibility in where the boiler can be kept in your home.
All of the pipes are situated within the boiler casing to save time and space, and the casing itself hides system connections to provide a neat and tidy finish. There is also a built-in drip tray to help protect the appliance against water ingress during periods of extreme weather.
Optional extras include an outdoor weather sensor to enhance user comfort, along with a safety assist control that can lock user controls in order to protect children and vulnerable residents.
Since this model comes in two outputs of 25kW and 30kW, the Potterton Assure Combi is best suited to properties that don’t have a high demand for heating and hot water. The 25kW offering is ideal for small homes with 1 bathroom and no more than 10 radiators, and the 30kW unit should be powerful enough to satisfy medium-sized dwellings with 1 bathroom, up to 15 radiators and possibly an ensuite. However, this information won’t be accurate for every home so you must ask a Gas Safe engineer to assess your heating and hot water usage habits to help you determine the right boiler model and output.

The Potterton Assure Combi is a compact space saving solution that is perfect for small and medium properties where there isn’t enough room to fit bulky cylinders and tanks. And unlike traditional boilers, this combi model can provide you with instant heating and hot water on demand.
You’ll also be pleased to know that this boiler is highly efficient and can save you money on your bills by using just the right amount of fuel to heat your home. In addition to this, servicing costs will be lower because your engineer won’t need to use special tools or replacement seals when carrying out a standard boiler service.
Whilst the boiler has some advantages, some heating engineers have said that Potterton boilers aren’t the best when it comes to build quality – with the brand receiving a below average Which? score of just under 55%. So even though the Assure Combi is reasonably priced and easy to install, it might be best to do a little more research before you buy this model.
As you’re aware, a new boiler can be costly so we recommend you get quotes from local and national installers in order to find the best deal. If you’re interested in purchasing the Potterton Assure Combi, always ask for a fixed price on the boiler and installation to avoid any hidden charges. You must also make sure your chosen installer is Gas Safe registered to prove that they’re legally allowed to work on your new boiler. To find out this information, either take a look at the details on your installer’s ID card or check to see if they’re listed on the official Gas Safe Register online.
