Launched in June 2018, the Logic Max Combi is one of Ideal’s latest combination boilers to provide both central heating and hot water.
Although it boasts the same qualities as the Logic+, the boiler is unique because it has a high-quality Ideal system filter. It also has compact dimensions that measure 700mm (H) x 395mm (W) x 278mm (D) so that it can be installed in a kitchen cupboard or a tight area of the home.
Available in outputs of 24kW, 30kW and 35kW, the Logic Max Combi comes with a 10-year warranty and will set you back anything between £859.56 and £1,077.43.
The Ideal Logic Max Combi is SEDBUK A rated for heating and hot water efficiency, so it should help to lower your energy bills and make your home more efficient. This boiler is clever in that it can adjust its power level to match your heating requirements at any given time, which helps to optimise efficiency and reduce the amount of energy you waste. It’s also compatible with an extensive selection of optional Ideal controls, such as mechanical timers, electronic thermostats and app-controlled thermostats.
This compact model by Ideal features a high-efficiency 22mm brass system filter which is designed to protect your central heating system by removing suspended black iron oxide. In case you’re unaware, just a small amount of iron oxide debris can result in serious energy wastage and efficiency loss – costing you more to run and maintain your boiler.
The range includes three output sizes with different maximum hot water flow rates, which are as follows:
Ideal’s Logic Max Combi comes with an easy to reach pressure gauge on the front panel and frost protection to eliminate the risk of cold weather damage during the winter. It also comes with a large digital display and large control knobs to make it easy for you to operate and manage the appliance.
There’s even a service timer with telephone number display, which will confirm each year when your annual service is due. You can also use this feature to store your installers contact details so that their telephone number appears with your yearly reminder.
Since the Logic Max Combi comes in three outputs with different hot water flow rates, there is a unit to suit most property types and sizes. Obviously, the higher the kW of the unit, the better the flow rate of hot water. Most flats and small houses with 1 bathroom and up to 10 radiators should consider the 24kW unit, and medium-sized dwellings with 1 bathroom and around 15 radiators might be best with the 30kW boiler. The 35kW unit is suitable for larger homes with a maximum of 2 bathrooms and 20 radiators. Having said that, this is only a rough guide and you must always ask a Gas Safe engineer to assess your property and your heating and hot water usage habits in order to choose the right boiler output and flow rate.
