Compact and lightweight, the Ideal Logic System is designed to provide both central heating and hot water when installed with a separate hot water cylinder.
This model measures 700mm (H) x 395mm (W) x 278mm (D) and can be purchased in four different outputs including 15kW, 18kW, 24kW and 30kW. As many of the components are built into the unit itself, the boiler is quick and easy to install and does not require the use of a bulky tank in your loft.
Ideal’s Logic System is a cost-effective solution for small to large-sized homes, with prices starting at £777.86 and going up to £894.64. It features a standard 2-year parts and labour warranty and comes with a lengthy 10-year warranty on the heat exchanger.
One of the best things about this boiler is that it has an efficiency rating of 91%, meaning it can help to lower your energy bills. The appliance is so efficient, it’s SEDBUK A-rated and an Energy Saving Trust endorsed product. In addition to this, the boiler is fully modulating and can adjust its output to provide only 4.8kW of power when needed to ensure you never waste energy and always save money. You can also choose to use the appliance with a variety of optional Ideal accessories and controls that range from weather compensation kits and mechanical timers to electronic programmable thermostats.
This model by Ideal has a built-in condensate trap to reduce the risk of the appliance condensate from freezing, along with built-in frost protection to protect the unit during cold and freezing weather conditions. As no compartment ventilation is required, the boiler can be kept hidden away in a storage area or even in a kitchen cupboard.
A wide range of flue options are available to enable you to place the appliance in most areas within your home, and an easy to see pressure gauge, universal condensate connection and built-in filling loop have also been included.
When it comes to managing the Ideal Logic System, you’ll quickly notice that it’s user-friendly which is thanks to the back-lit digital display and simple controls. Not forgetting the fact that the boiler can control temperatures in line with demand and modulate down to as low as 4.8kW.
Available in a choice of outputs to suits small, medium and large properties, this model is a great option for homes with more than 1 bathroom. Obviously, the higher your demand for heating and hot water, the higher the output you will require. For example, if you live in a small house and tend not to use a lot of hot water, you might want to consider the 15kW unit. But if your heating and hot water needs are greater, you will need to choose one of the higher output units. As we always say, you must consult with a Gas Safe engineer to help you determine the best option for your home.

If you’re looking to replace your existing system boiler with a more efficient and economical boiler, the Ideal Logic System could be just what you need. It’s an excellent choice for new builds and older properties with limited space or homes where there is no other option but to keep the boiler in view. This is mainly down to the fact that the unit is so small and has concealed pipe connections.
The boiler also achieves ultra-low NOx emissions and complies with Class 5 requirements, which means it’s a ‘best in class’ boiler that is kinder to the environment. But that’s not all. This model also received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2013 and is recommended by Good Housekeeping readers.
Having said all that, some homeowners and engineers have said that Ideal boilers can be unreliable and problematic at times so we suggest you contact a professional with plenty of experience in installing and servicing this model for a second opinion before parting with any cash.
