Launched in 2016, the Baxi 400 Combi is a super-light model that measures in at 700mm (H) x 395mm (W) x 279mm (D).
The boiler comes in two different heat outputs of 24kW and 28kW, making it ideal for apartments and small to medium-sized house. It’s also a good choice for properties where there is little loft or airing cupboard space because it doesn’t require any bulky tanks or a cylinder. One of the smartest things about this model is that it offers you the option to control your heating using a smartphone or tablet.
The 400 Combi comes with a generous 5-year warranty and will set you back anything between £630.00 and £689.44, depending on your chosen heat output.
The Baxi 400 Combi is designed to make your home more energy efficient and therefore help to save you money on your fuel bills. It’s a SEDBUK A-rated appliance that has guaranteed efficiency levels of 89% and is recommended by the Energy Saving Trust. To improve efficiency and help keep your energy bills low, the boiler can be used with an optional uSense smart room thermostat that allows you to control your heating even when you’re not at home.
Weighing just 26kg, the Baxi 400 Combi is extremely lightweight to make life easy for your engineer during installation. It comes with a simple hanging bracket and a choice of flue lengths to enable the boiler to be installed virtually anywhere in your property. An optional stand-off frame can be supplied as well.
The range includes two output sizes with different maximum hot water flow rates, which are as follows:
Other key features include an LCD display and user-friendly temperature controls that make it easy for you to programme your heating times. You can even switch your heating on from your smartphone when you’re not at home, provided you purchase the optional uSense control.
Since this model is a combination boiler, it heats water directly from the mains so you won’t need bulky tanks in the loft or a hot water storage cylinder in your airing cupboard. This makes the Baxi 400 Combi an excellent option for homes with limited loft and storage space. As a rough guide, the 24kW output unit will comfortably heat an apartment or small property with just 1 bathroom and up to 10 radiators. As for the 28kW 400 Combi, this unit is best suited to a medium-sized home with 1 bathroom, around 15 radiators and possibly an ensuite. Before selecting a new boiler, you must consult a Gas Safe engineer to assess your home and your typical heating and hot water usage habits.
