Ideal’s Logic+ Heat is a heat-only boiler, which is sometimes known as a regular, traditional or conventional boiler.
It’s a condensing wall-mounted model that measures 700mm (H) x 395mm (W) x 278mm (D) and can be placed inside a standard-sized kitchen cupboard. The boiler comes in 12kW, 15kW, 18kW, 24kW and 30kW outputs and is designed to work with a hot water cylinder and cold water storage tank to provide you with ample heating and hot water.
Suitable for properties of all sizes and homes where water pressure is low, the Logic+ Heat has a 7-year parts and labour warranty and a 10-year warranty on the heat exchanger. As there are five different outputs available, you can expect to pay anything between £781.19 and £995.99 for this boiler.
With over 91% efficiency, the Ideal Logic+ Heat will not only help reduce your energy bills but also your carbon footprint. By being so energy efficient, the boiler is endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust and been given an A rating from SEDBUK. It has a good modulation ration and is capable of modulating down to a low output of 4.8kW or in line with demand to optimise fuel efficiency. This boiler is also compatible with an optional weather compensation kit to improve efficiency and reduce your energy bills even further.
The Ideal Logic+ Heat is a feature-rich boiler with many cost-saving components, such as a universal condensate connection. It has a pre-wired mains lead and PRV wall outlet pipe, as well as built-in frost protection to ensure the boiler remains in good working order during the cold winter months.
Although the boiler comes with a fast-fix horizontal flue as standard, there is a wide selection of flueing options available too. And because this model has a low lift weight, it can be lifted and installed with ease, helping to save time and money on installation.
If you do decide to purchase the Logic+ Heat, you won’t have any trouble operating and managing the boiler because it has a clear LCD display with simple to use controls. Not forgetting the excellent energy saving modulation ration, which allows the boiler to modulate down to as low as 4.8kW to meet demand in your home.
This model is ideally suited to properties with a traditional heating and hot water system which includes a cold water storage tank to feed a hot water cylinder, as well as another tank that maintains the central heating system’s water level. As there are five unit outputs to choose from, this boiler is perfect for small, medium and large homes. For example, the 12kW unit is suitable for a smaller house that doesn’t have an excessive need for hot water, the 18kW version will meet the requirements of a family living in a medium-sized dwelling, and the 30kW unit is best for a large property with a higher demand for heating and hot water. Having said that, this information won’t be accurate for every home so you must seek advice from a Gas Safe engineer to help you determine the right boiler output for your needs.

Since this boiler is so compact, it can be tucked away in a cabinet or tight area and is perfect for homes where space is limited. But don’t forget, you will need enough storage and loft space for a separate hot water cylinder and cold water tank if you don’t already have both of these items. Then there’s the fact that the Logic+ Heat has been Quiet Mark approved, meaning you won’t have any issues with boiler noise.
By being a fully modulating unit that can automatically adjust its output when demand is reduced, this boiler will help to cut the cost of your energy bills and better protect its components from wear and tear. You should also save money on call out fees because the boiler is quick and easy to install, service and maintain.
Whilst some engineers have experienced problems with leaks caused by cracks that have appeared on the sump pump, others have said they would recommend this model to customers because they haven’t come across any issues and the boiler is backed by a generous warranty. We should also point out that the Ideal Logic+ Heat won the 2013 Queen’s Award for Enterprise and has been recommended by Good Housekeeping readers in the past.
